Food
Food refers to any substance that is consumed to support the body with nutritional back-up and generally is derived from plants and animals. The food taken is supposed to contain the essential nutrients like fats, proteins, carbohydrates, minerals or vitamins. It is consumed internally by living organisms which further gets assimilated with the body cells and functions to build up energy, stimulate growth and maintain life. Historically, hunting & gathering was the chief source of food procurement that was later followed by the practice of agriculture. Today, the maximum of food taken by world population gets supplied from big MNCs that involve intensive farming plus industrial agriculture with a goal to maximize the system output.
